JAKARTA - Reports of a number of parties to the speech of the Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan after inagurate who called 'indigenous' word is considered unwarranted and unclear legal basis.
"We ask for clarification from the police, what is the legal basis," said Chairman of the Association of Indonesia Young Entrepreneurs, Sam Aliano when visited the Police Criminal Investigation Agency building, Jakarta on Tuesday (24/10).
Sam was astonished at the people who were offended by that term.
"Is that a sin? Why Anies reported?" Sam asked.
According to him, the word 'indigenous' is the root of Indonesian culture that should not be eliminated. He explained that the letter he had brought to ask for clarification to the police had been received.
"They will call me again for clarification," Sam said.
This entrepreneur also shows evidence and documents from the United Nations (UN). The document stated how the UN recognizes the term indigenous as a legitimate term. This means that the term should not be eliminated as a human right.
As is known, a number of parties, among Organisasi Banteng Muda Indonesia, reported Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan to the police because it was deemed to injure Law No 40/2008 on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Ethnicity related to his first speech after being inagurate as governor who called the 'indigenous' word.
