Madrasah in This Remote Area Finally Can be Realized

MEDAN - A madrasah in a remote area was successfully built without having to rely on government funds.

After working with a number of SOEs, this time the same thing was also carried out by National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) with Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of Indonesian National Army (TNI).

The form of cooperation with the aim of alleviating poverty and intellectual life of the nation is manifested in the form of madrasah development in remote areas.

The collaboration was seen in the inauguration of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awwaliyah (MDTA) in Bagan Bilah Village, Panai Tengah Sub-district, Labuhanbatu District, North Sumatera Province on Monday (30/10).

"Alhamdulillah, this three local renovation aid is completed and can be utilized by the students for teaching and learning activities," said Secretary of UPZ TNI Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel Sus Hasanuddin.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Governor of North Sumatra Province, Isma Padly Pulungan and the ranks, a number of administrators of Al Washliyah, Panai Tengah Subdistrict and Labuhanbatu District, UPZ Baznas Service Representative Branch Dian Syahputra Pasaribu, and residents and village of Bagan Bilah.

According to Lieutenant Colon Sus, who is also Head of Sub-Division of Bintalrohis Pusbintal TNI, the funds allocated for this development from BAZNAS-UPZ Mabes TNI amounted to Rp 144,671,000. He further added, at the age of 72, the TNI kept trying to get close to the people.

"Including helping people if they have difficulty. Therefore, when there is a madrasah that needs donations, we are holding Baznas directly respond," he said.

On the same occasion, Chief of Village Bagan Bilah Asrul Siregar, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the cooperation of the two institutions that have built educational facilities in their area.

"Thanks to Baznas and UPZ Mabes TNI who have participated in the construction of madrasah in our area. This is a great support and motivation for the community to be more active in education, "said Asrul.

The same thing conveyed Head of Al Washliyah Province of North Sumatra, Isma Padly Pulungan.

"This development will encourage rural children to excel and society increasingly feel the impact of zakat in raising the quality of the people. Alhamdulillah, thanks to this help we can provide a comfortable and quality learning places for present and future generations," said the cleric and youth leaders of North Sumatra.
