JAKARTA - Wednesday (9/11) evening Neo Soho building next to Central Park superblock in West Jakarta caught fire began from 9 pm. Neo Soho and Central Park are superblocks developed by Agung Podomoro Land (APLN).
"Fire on the 6th to 12th floors of the Neo Soho building in Tanjung Duren is still being handled by nine fire trucks," the TMC Twitter account said at 9:19 pm.
Jakarta Police said while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, traffic was diverted away from the Central Park entrance.
Head of Prevention and Fire Fighting (PKP) West Jakarta, Hardisiswan insists there is no floor feeble fire when a great fire swept Soho Poci building.
"Everything is burned out by fire, only mall unit that can survive a little bit. But part of the west side balcony caught fire," said Hardisiswa, Wednesday night.
However, Hardisiswan denies doing nothing. He said, the strong wind blows at that hour, and number of burned meterial make the flames constrained.
For the sake of putting out fires, it deployed 30 units fire fighter, two of them car sky lift. However, due to the building untouched high water and strong winds, and the rubble of buildings that collapsed give obstacle.
Therefore, Hardisiswan said it took about five hours to extinguish some of the floors were burned. The new fire extinguished itself around 23.30 pm, after dozens of members fire fighter baled.
