Loan Shark Practice by Entrepreneurs Should be Stopped

JAKARTA - Many entrepreneurs are still close to the practice of loan shark (Riba). To start and grow its business, entrepreneurs are always always lured with capital from Riba. Conventional banks often offer working capital and business development loans with various programs.
Entrepreneurs who do not understand Riba's problems and the consequences will easily accept the offer. This practices are currently considered to be immediately stopped by the entrepreneurs.
"The practice of Riba is one of the triggers of the economic slowdown of the West some time ago, it should have been stopped. Independently without relying on others to make a successful effort and trigger the good of the country's economy," said Habib Umar bin Hafidz, a Yemeni cleric while speaking in a seminar entitled "The Role of Entrepreneurs in Maintaining State Stability as well as the Integrity and Harmony of Religious People" in Jakarta on Monday (16/10).
He stressed, it is right for entrepreneurs and businessmen to do business without any intervention, including from the practice of Riba.
"Entrepreneurs in Indonesia are expected to also convey the message of peace and contribute to promote synergy and a sense of togetherness among fellow entrepreneurs in order to maintain stability and harmony of the nation," he said again.
In the same place, Chairman of Majma Insan Madani Foundation, Rifky Haznul said, one of the parameters of the nation's progress can be seen from the level of the economy.
"Entrepreneurs have a vital role not only in the nation's economy but also have a big share in influencing government policy and maintaining harmony among religious people in society, therefore, the role of entrepreneurs can not be underestimated," he said.
