LOS ANGELES - This young film director and producer will be in Washington, DC for 2017 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a spokesperson of Indonesia alongside Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister, Luhut B. Panjaitan, Bank Indonesia Governor, Agus Martowardojo, Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati and a representative of Ministry of Tourism.
In this 2017 Annual Meeting of the World Bank Group and IMF which attended by 189 countries from all over the world with around 15,000 delegates to attend, Livi Zheng will talking about her native homeland of Indonesia, especially Bali. She wants grow platform and champion of Indonesia and its culture, beauty and entertainment. As known her recent film, Bali: Beats of Paradise, filmed in Bali, Indonesia, is set to release theatrically in the US in 2018, .
"There is no place on earth like Bali. It’s natural beauty is stunning, most importantly it’s culture and traditions still ingrained in Balinese daily life. Art is the soul of Balinese culture. Every morning you will see Balinese give offerings. For Balinese life is a celebration," Livi said from Los Angeles on Thursday (5/10).
She added, for Balinese, music and arts are part of your life. Throughout your life there are multiple ceremonies; to celebrate your birthday, adulthood and marriage.
"Even when you pass away, there will be a cremation ceremony, which in Balinese culture is a joyous celebration. Each of these ceremonies involve arts and gamelan, traditional Balinese music," this director for five international film said.
It’s no surprise that Livi who a guest lecturer and speaker in more than 25 universities worldwide, including the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, New York Film Academy, Communication University of China and University of Indonesia selected to represent Indonesia alongside Republic of Indonesia ministers, to support the upcoming annual meetings related to Indonesia’s readiness and preparation for 2018 the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund that will be held in Bali Indonesia.
