BANDUNG - Figure of Abdullah Gymnastiar (Aa Gym) still has charisma to be carried in East Java Governor Election 2018. Intensive approaches continue to be done so that the leadership of Ponpes Daarut Tauhid is willing to enter Governor Election contestation.
Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Gerindra Party of West Java, Mulyadi did not dismiss about the interest of his party to figure of Aa Gym. He also hopes in the discussion with a new axis consisting of Democratic, PAN and PPP party about the criteria of West Java leaders in the future, Aa Gym can be figure to be reckoned with.
"I have communicated with Aa Gym many times, even though the communication is outside the political context, but we will continue to convince him to be one of the candidates for governor candidate or vice governor candidate," said Mulyadi in Bandung on Wednesday (27/9).
He also hopes, Aa Gym had expressed less interest in the democratic party can change. The reason for the benefit of people in West Java, could be a consideration for this ulema to change his mind.
"There are still several months ahead, which means that dynamics will continue to happen," he said.
About the new axis, Mulyadi said, the joining of Gerindra Party into political power was very positive. Moreover, the new axis is very responsive to the presence of Gerindra which can add political power before the West Java Governor Election.
