"We want to bring the collaboration of cutting edge musicians in creating fresh new works for the Indonesia music industry," said Brand Manager Generation-G, Namanda Mandagie in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/9).

12 music groups in the spotlight are involved in the collaboration for this album. They are the band Elephant Kind with Rock N Roll Mafia, Barasuara with Scaller, Kelompok Penerbang Roket with Kimokal, The Brandals with Agrikulture, Silampukau with The Hydrant and Mocca with Payung Teduh.

Each collaboration presents an average of two new songs that have not been released anywhere. The synergized bands bring together the nuances of each music into a cool harmony.

Interestingly, the collaborative song between Mocca and Payung Teduh is inspired by the titles of mutuality. After determining the theme, Mocca created a song called 'Menunggu', then greeted by Payung Teduh with a song titled 'Bertemu'.

"We make together in the hotel room wearing guitar in a relaxed atmosphere. All happened to run smoothly because in addition to the character of the person fits, fitting communicating music easy, make the song and other arrangements very fast," said Mocca vocalist, Arina.

Collaboration of 12 bands has also been brought stop to 14 cities in Indonesia. Such as Jakarta, Medan, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Bandung, Lampung, Surabaya, Makassar, and others. The 2017 Urban Gigs event begins in March to November. In each city, the bands will feature new songs as well as re-arrangement of a work with the concept of collaboration. In addition to music concerts, Urban Gigs 2017 event also presents other exciting activations.

In addition to the 6 band collaboration work, 'Urban Gigs X Unreleased Project 2017' also wants to introduce newcomers who enliven the development of indie music in Indonesia. The band is the result of auditions from several cities, and is the band of choice that gives a distinct impression when they perform on the stage of UrbanGiGs. In line with that, UrbanGiGS also launched 'Sesari Selagu' album, an album for newcomers who have been selected.

"Hopefully the series of activities of UrbanGiGs can be a means as well as a forum for those who want to channel their talents and creativity in the path of Indie music," said Namanda.
