KPK Checks Physical of AW 101 Helicopters Directly

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator and the Military Police Headquarters (Puspom) TNI conducted a physical inspection of Augusta Westland (AW) 101 helicopter at the Squadron of Engineering 021, Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta.
Seven KPK investigators arrived at the Skatek Squadron at approximately 11:00 pm. They immediately check the condition of the tires, doors, cabin to the cockpit of British and Italian helicopters.
"A physical check by an independent expert team is related to an aircraft expert, a team of which I do not know yet," said Maj. Gen. Dodik Widjanarko, Commander of TNI Military Police Headquarters in Halim Perdanakusuma on Thursday (24/8).
"Our task today is to conduct a process of investigation and investigation with regard to physical by experts (independent team) from KPK and also from Puspom TNI," he added.
According to Dodik, this inspection in order to complete the file so that both formally and materially all are met.
"What is clear about the physical condition of helicopter, if there is a body, a machine, then if there are other things, it may be different to know whether it is in accordance with the contract, specification and the price. The full results of our examination will be conveyed, if not me, maybe KPK," he said.
Dodik asserted, the investigation of this case will continue to run. If in the examination results develop there are suspects it will be submitted.
"We're not recklessly assigning people to suspects, just wait," Dodik said.
As is known, POM TNI investigators assigned five suspects in the case of the helicopter purchase. The three members of the TNI were first designated as a suspect, Marshal TNI FA as the official making the commitment (PPK) in the procurement of goods and services, Lieutenant Colonel WW cash holders, and Pelda S who allegedly channeled funds related to procurement to certain parties.
Furthermore, Colonel FTS and Marshal SB, as an assistant planner Chief of Staff Air Force (KSAU). Meanwhile, from the private sector, the Commission determined Director of PT Diratama Jaya Mandiri (DJM) Irfan Kurnia Saleh as a suspect.
