One Ton Drugs Transporter Paid Rp400 Million for Delivered

BATAM - Batam Customs officers managed catch a ship used to smuggle of drug that weighing one ton in Serang, Banten some time ago.

The white vessel with name Wanderlust was captured in Mapur Island waters, Tanjung Berakit, Bintan regency, Riau Islands, Saturday afternoon, July 15, 2017. In addition to the ships, officers also secured five foreigners who were inside the ship during the arrest.

The ship allegedly used to smuggle drugs now secured at Customs Port at Tanjung Uncang, Batu Aji, Batam city.

This hip was arrested while trying to escape to the territory of Myanmar through waters of Riau Islands. But the existence of ship has been known and immediately made the arrest.

Currently, five foreigners are still undergoing deepening and examination by a joint team consisting of customs, National Police Headquarters and National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

According to Iriawan, arrest of Wanderlust
ship result from coordination of police and customs. And ship whicn run off can be ambushed without fight.

From results of intensive examination to the perpetrators, known that Wanderlust ship sailed from China to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore. Furthermore, this veseel ship took one ton of shabu from waters of Thailand and took it to Banten through the western waters of Sumatra.

In addition to securing five crew and boat captain, police are also hunting down the owner of drugs which worth Rp1,7 trillion. Police also suspect there are Indonesian citizens who involved in this Taiwan-China
narcotics network.

While five crew of Taiwanese who become transporter of one ton of drugs paid Rp400 million.

"This ship departs from Taiwan on June 17, 2017 with same crew," said Iriawan.

"We will dismantle the entire network until the owner. We have access with Chinese police to dismantle the network," he added.

Iriawan continued, the five transporters do not recognize four actors in Jakarta aka disconnected connection mode.

"The involvement of Indonesian citizens is still being developed including the ship and its place. Indeed there is an irregularity during the first arrest, because it has been five years the hotel used to store 1 ton tons is not operating," he said.
