JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or PT KAI decided to cancel policy of adjusting the economic train tariff that was originally enforced starting July 7, 2017.
Vice President of Public Relations PT KAI, Agus Komarudin discloses, in June 6, 2017, subsidized train rates back to the old tariff according to Regulation of the Minister of Communications No 35 of 2016 on Persons Transportation Tariffs with Railway Service Economy Classes to perform Public Service (PSO) obligations.
"To improve services and meet the needs of the community for an economical mass transportation mode, KAI cancels the policy of adjusting the subsidized economy train tariff," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (5/7).
For people who have made purchase of train tickets from June 24, 2017 to July 4, 2017 on the official channels of KA ticket sales, the difference can be taken at the destination station by showing the boarding pass at station counter.
While for prospective passengers who have made the cancellation of the train tickets, it can be taken the difference between the old and new tariffs at the refund station.
"As in Gambir, Pasar Senen, Kiara Condong, Lempuyangan and stations in various other areas by showing evidence of cancellation," he said.
