JAKARTA - In 'Kartini' movie, Dian Sastrowardoyo became a formidable woman. But how about Dian's real life. Is she as tough as the women in the movie who she starred?
"If asked what kind of tough mother it is, myself may be difficult to answer. Because I feel what I am doing now undergoes two different roles, as housewives and as professionals who need their own toughness," said Dian after watching 'Kartini' movie along with 500 teachers throughout Greater Jakarta, recently.
Even so, one thing that remains Dian's hold in her role as a woman. What is that? It turned out to be discourse of the mother who she kept remembering.
"Mother figure became my motivator to always be excited. I know really the struggle of mother in raising her children. Although the challenge of his era is slightly different, but the outline is almost always same. Mother can do many things, understand needs of her family, but still have a good social life," said Dian.
Dian hope, teachers have additional insights about the figure of RA Kartini than has been known for this.
Sri, a teacher from South Jakarta admitted to seeing the other side of Kartini's life after watching this movie.
"Kartini is a smart woman, a Javanese adat, but can and try to enjoy life as an Indonesian woman who wants to go forward with science," said Sri who came to watch with about 15 peer teachers.
