Manufacturing Industry Not Trigger Flood of Chinese Workers

JAKARTA - Concerns to the flood of workers from China as entry of Chinese investment into Indonesia is not entirely true. For long-term projects and manufacturing, it's possible for Chinese companies which invest in Indonesia.
"If the project needs a quick, it's possible. But for manufacturing and long term project, I think it's impossible," said Deputy Secretary General of KADIN, Hasan Kosasih in Jakarta, Tuesday (3/5).
Therefore, it's optimistic to attract Chinese investors again to invest in Indonesia. And the effort done with the title International Consumer Electronics Expo Indonesia (ICEEI) 2017 in Jakarta on 3-5 August 2017.
Working closely with the Indonesian Ministry of Industry and Chamber of Commerce (KIKT), this event will bring in hundreds of Chinese companies.
"It is planned that 180 to 200 companies will definitely bring more than one to five brands," Hasan said.
ICEEI 2017 event will present a variety of electronic products, such as LED light, smartwatch, bluetooth speakers, computers, to drones.
"This is an event where many new Chinese products will be presented," Hasan said.
A number of electronic industry associations in various provinces in China are also involved to support ICEEI 2017.
"I see that there are opportunities for Chinese companies not only to invest in Indonesia, but there is also a hope of relocating their factories to Indonesia, and this certainly opens employment opportunities in Indonesia," he said.
"If there is assembling plant (origin China) in Indonesia, it would be better," he added.
Among Chinese domestic exhibitors, who will fill ICEEI 2017, such as Pisen, Rapoo, Koowheel, Orico, Anytek, Orvibo, KTC, or Flypro. While the scope of the company that will be present in this electronic exhibition includes 3D printing, family entertainment device, health and sport device, life science and technology, video / audio products, 4K HD devices, automotive technology, content and online platform, mobile life, green technology , Robot equipment, eletronic games, health products, and intelligent household wearable devices.
