JAKARTA - Usmar Ismail Awards (UIA) 2017 show surprises. Gunawan Maryanto who plays the figure of activist Wiji Tukul in 'Istirahatlah Kata-Kata' able to 'bulldoze' actor Reza Rahadian and Tyo Pakusadewo.
"Thanks to the Wiji Tukul family who have given up this very honorable figure for me," said Gunawan after receiving UIA 2017 in Best Male Actor category, in Jakarta on Saturday (30/4).
Not only that, Gunawan who is a theater player and literary writer from Yogyakarta also delivered a special message to Wiji Tukul.
"Wiji Tukul, wherever you are, you still exist and multiply," said Gunawan who was immediately greeted by the applause of the audience.
In award for appreciation to Indonesian filmmakers whose judgment was conducted by 37 journalists from seven city in Indonesia, Reza was nominated in 'Rudy Habibie'. While Tyo Pakusadewo nominated through 'Pancasila, Cita-cita dan Realita'.
For Best Actress category in UIA 2017 achieved to Cut Mini in 'Athirah' and for Best Film category achieved to 'Aisyah: Biarkan Kami Bersaudara'.
