JAKARTA - Acid attack Incident by two unidentified men against senior investigator of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Novel Baswedan has entered in category of terrorism.
Chairman of Central Board (PP) Pemuda Muhammadiyah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said the attack as a form of terrorism against efforts to eradicate corruption in Indonesia. State and government requested acted quickly to uncover and arrest the perpetrators.
"If this is allowed and state absent in this event, government and state lost by political bandits who want to take care of corruption in Indonesia," said Dahnil in the PP Muhammadiyah office, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/4).
The movement to preserve and escort, he added, not only to the Novel, but other KPK investigators.
"In this context, police should make policy as soon as possible to make a good security system against to the investigator," he concluded.
Separate, President Joko Widodo has condemned the acid attack on Novel Baswedan. He saying it was a brutal criminal act.
"It is a brutal act. I condemn it in the strongest terms, and I order the national police chief to find those responsible," Jokowi said at State Palace, Tuesday.
He noted that such acts of crime should not recur against any integrated investigators of the graft body, and they must continue to work in high spirits.
Following this incident, President Widodo also reminded the KPK investigators to remain cautious and alert.
Meanwhile, Novel conditions more better now.
"In a sense already aware," said the former chairman of Constitutional Court (MK), Mahfud MD after visiting Novel at Jakarta Eye Center (JEC) hospital, Tuesday (11/4).
Mahfud said, Novel been able to communicate normally. Only his left eye is not functioning normally.
"He right now, just left eye can not see," said this constitutional law expert.
Mahfud explain, Novel still takes care about next week in Jakarta Eye Center hospital.
"Just to be determined the eye. But it was not able to see the other one, the other (right) to see," he said.
As known, Novel was acid attacked by two suspects which riding a motorbike while he was returning home after Subuh prayer at a mosque near his house on Tuesday morning.
