TIMIKA - Society from seven tribes that in the area around concession of PT Freeport Indonesia (FI) wanted a trilateral dialogue.

"People want trilateral dialogue between government, PT Freeport and society from seven tribal owner customary rights represented a concession area each chieftain," said the Special Staff of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Lenis Kogoya in Timika, on Sunday (12/2) ,

The request,
said Kagoya disclosed seven tribal society, namely Amungme Kamoro, Dani, Damal, Nduga, Mee and Moni with their respective chiefs during a meeting a few days ago.

"In the dialogue that they want to deliver what their communal rights and perform the calculations again with the government and Freeport towards 2021," he said.

In particular in the dialogue, representatives of the seven parts of Papua will also discuss the responsibilities associated Freeport should be given to them as the owners of customary rights of concessions. Including coaching back in Community Development Institute Amungme and Kamoro (LPMAK) that it will also include five other tribes.

"People wanted that what they are entitled to it should be given directly to them, and will no longer be managed by Freeport, but by community itself. Don't remove the head and hold the tail," he said.

"Of the funds that the community could build houses, open businesses and include education and health care of itself," he added.

Representatives of the seven tribes also like to thank the President Jokowi who formally approved the change in status of the Contract of Work (COW) into Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK) through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
