Indonesian Film Festival Come to Cairo

CAIRO - The Embassy of the Republic Indonesia in Cairo, in cooperation with the Center of Film Development, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia will hold the Indonesian Film Festival.
Eight Indonesian movies will be screened in some places around Cairo from 21 to 25 November 2016. The movies are Aisyah: Biarkan Kami Bersaudara (Aisyah: Let us Be Family) as the opening movie, Soekarno, Battle of Surabaya, Ada Surga di Rumahmu (There is Heaven in Your Home), Ketika Cinta Bertasbih (When Love Exalted), Cahaya dari Timur: Beta Maluku (The Ray From East: I Am Moluccas), Jihad Selfie and Filosofi Kopi (Coffee Philosophy)
The Indonesian Ambassador, HE. Helmy Fauzy said that the themes of the movies chosen for the festival will illustrate patriotism and perseverance, entrepreneurship spirit, humanity, friendship and education.
"In accordance with the Embassy’s mission to introduce the diversity and achievement of Indonesia, those movies also contain the picturesque Indonesia, one of the main commodity products of Indonesia, cultural and customs diversity and the advancement of animation industry in Indonesia," Helmi said.
The opening ceremony of the Indonesian Film Festival will be convened at the Ballroom of Ramses Hilton Hotel, Cairo. The Embassy of Indonesia will invite Egyptian high ranking official such as the Minister of Culture, ambassadors and diplomatic corps in Cairo, local medias, and Egyptians who are “Friends of Indonessia” to attend the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony will also be attended by the actress of the movie “There is Heaven in Your Home’, Zizi Shahab; the author of a book which adapted to movie “When Love Exalted”, Habiburrahman Shirazi; Muhammad Suyanto, the producer of “Battle of Surabaya”, the producer of documentary movie “Jihad Selfie”, Taufik Andri Susanto and some officials from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia.
