JAYAPURA - Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security (Menkopolhukam), Luhut Panjaitan asked the Governor of Papua to prepare human resources which can lead PT. Freeport.
As is known, until now no expert Papuans who can sit as a leader in the PT. Freeport. Since Maroef Sjamsoeddin resigned early in January 2016, position president director of PT. Freeport is still vacant to this day.
"Up to now, we are still having trouble finding people of Papua that has the ability to lead PT. Freeport," said Luhut Pandjaitan in Jayapura, Monday (28/3) night.
He continued, the government is currently making a special scholarship program for science or technology subject to the Papuan people to be able to meet the qualified human resources in that thing.
If this is not done soon, said Luhut, it will be difficult to assess Papua to become masters in their own country due to lack of human resources that can occupy a certain position. In fact, besides PT. Freeport also has other major companies that operate like BP Tangguh in West Papua.

Menkopolhukam who was accompanied by Minister of Home Affairs and the Head of BIN, today is scheduled to perform the first stone laying Post Limit Cross Country (PLBN) Skouw which is on the border between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
