See Indonesian Comics Artist Show Off in Cairo

CAIRO - Indonesian Cartoonist, Yunus Airlangga participated in the 3rd International Forum of Comics in Cairo at Arts Palace, Egyptian Opera House from 20th to 27th March 2016, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Egyptian Association for comics.
The forum was opened by Hilmi El-Nimnim, Minister of Culture on March 20, 2016 and co-where 770 works by nearly 320 artists from 68 countries, including South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Cuba, Brazil, Italy, Turkey, China, Iran, Poland, Indonesia, Colombia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Tunisia and the UAE.
The forum this year addresses a key theme, e.g education and its necessity in the dissemination of culture and the evolution of thinking and the formation of the minds of the people, in addition to that caricature plays a role in giving the concepts of all educational means facing the Arab world and themes of many of the world through those works.
"Number of famous cartoonists worldwide participated in the forum, including the Indonesian artist Yunus Erlangga who sent pictures include children soldiers and refugees," said Lauti Nia Sutedja, Head of Information and Socio Cultural Affairs, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Sindonews, Monday (28/3).
Known for Indonesian caricature artist Yunus Erlangga that he participated in lots of Comics forums and won awards at many international competetions such as Honorable Mention in 1st Cocurso Internacional del carton, Sinaloa, Mexico (2012), Excellence Prize in Romania (2011), Mention of Honor at Toonpool "Pizza Pitch", Germany (2011), Selected Prize in 2nd International Salt & Pepper Satirical Art salon, Romania (2013), Special Prize from 4th "Red Man" International Humor Art Biennale in China (2012), another award as Ambassador of Good Humor Party (Poland-2013), Ambassador of the United Sketches (France – 2015).
"Yunus Erlangga is also one of the caricature artists in World Toilet Day, a Global program of clean water and sanitation, which is sponsored by the United Nations / UNICEF (2015)," added Lauti.
The pictures and artworks of Yunus Erlangga had been printed in numerous books, catalogs, albums, magazines and websites whether local and international. His artworkS had been published for example in: Movement Cartoons (Netherlands), tOOnsMag (Norway), Good Humor Party (Poland), United Sketches (France), Fenamizah Magazine (Turkey), New Araby (London-England), Forum Cartoon (Croatia), Bostoonsmag (USA), Brazilcartoon (Brazil), Irancartoon (Iran), Wittygraphy (USA) and sketchoholic (Canada) etc.
