SEMARANG - The Asia Pacific's lightweight boxing champion, Daud Yordan, is scheduled to defend his title in February 2016. He would face an Asian fighter.

"He is from Japan, but he's not Takahiro Ao," he said.

Previously, Yordan was scheduled to face Australian fighter, Josh King, on early November 2015. But, the fight then postponed until December 5, 2015, before it got cancelled. There is no futher information whether the game between North-West Kalimantanese and King will be re-scheduled.

"That December 5, 2015 fight was cancelled and I have got information from management that the fight will be held in February," said Daud as quoted by Antara news agency.

The February 2016 fight is possibly being held in Jakarta.

For the first time, Daud was succeeded in defending his title after winning over Ugandan Maxwell Akuwu di Surabaya on June 6, 2015, by margins. He acclaimed his Asia Pasific WBO championship afer winning over Filipino's Ronald Pontilas in Pontianak by KO after 5 rounds.

Before acclaiming his Asia Pasific WBO championship, Daud won over Argentinian Daniel Eduarto Brizuela in Australia on July 6, 2013 and became IBO world champion. He defended the title by defeating South African Sipho Taliwe in Australia, December 6, 2013.
